Undoubtedly, King James' version of the Bible is one of the most renowned and widely-used English translations of the Scriptures. But since this version was produced in the 17th century, a group of nearly 50 19th century British scholars felt that it was perfectible, so they embarked in a thorough revision of the KJV, using a different Greek version for translating the New Testament, arranging poetry passages such as The Song of Solomon using indented lines, and so on. The final result of this work was published in 1895.
